Venison Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. venison steak, cubed
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 can stewed tomatoes, drained; save liquid
- 2 cups water
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 green peppers, cleaned, cut in strips
- 2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
Directions:
- Melt shortening in skillet
- Roll venison in flour, salt, pepper; brown in skillet
- Add reserved liquid, water, onion, garlic and bouillon
- Cover and simmer 1 1/2-2 hours
- Uncover, stir in worcestershire, pepper strips and tomatoes
- Cook additional 15 minutes until peppers are tender
- Serve over rice
