Venison Pepper Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. venison steak, cubed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes, drained; save liquid
  • 2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 green peppers, cleaned, cut in strips
  • 2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  • Melt shortening in skillet
  • Roll venison in flour, salt, pepper; brown in skillet
  • Add reserved liquid, water, onion, garlic and bouillon
  • Cover and simmer 1 1/2-2 hours
  • Uncover, stir in worcestershire, pepper strips and tomatoes
  • Cook additional 15 minutes until peppers are tender
  • Serve over rice
