Dutch Meatloaf Recipe

  • 2 1/2 lbs. hamburger
  • 2 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 cup cubed cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. catsup
  • Mix all ingredients, form into 2 loaves.
  • Pour some catsup over top of loaves.
  • Bake at 350 degrees until done.

Other Suggestions:

Cut up an onion and potatoes and place in a baking dish with meatloaf. Halfway through cooking time, pour a can of diced or stewed tomatos over meatloaf.

Meatloaf Preparation Tip

If you want an even textured meatloaf, and hey who doesn't, always user your hands to gently mix the ingredients. Using a spoon will cause the meatloaf to become too compact.

For a moister meatloaf, use soft bread crumbs instead of dry. To eliminate calories, substitute grated potato or carrots for a portion of the meat.

To enhance the flavor of meatloaf, substitute red wine or dark beer for the liquids.
