Slow Cooker recipes are an easy way to have a complete meal on the table. With Slow Cooker recipes, you can use cheaper cuts of meat and have them come out tasting great and there are no hot ovens and stove tops to deal with.

Beef and Pork Barbecue Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef stew meat
  • 1 1/2 lbs. cubed pork
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 16 sandwich buns

Directions:

  • In the slow cooker, mix all ingredients except buns.
  • Cook 1 hour on high then reduce to low.
  • Cook for 7 - 9 hours until meat is tender.
  • With fork, stir mix to break up meat.
  • Serve on buns.

    Makes 16 sandwiches

Dinner Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. sliced raw potatoes
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 c. raw hamburger
  • 1 c. sliced raw onions
  • 1 c. finely cut green peppers
  • 2 c. canned tomatoes

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in the crock pot
  • Cover with water.
  • Set crock pot to low.
  • Start in the morning, eat in the evening.

Japanese Tomato Beef

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. sirloin steak, sliced thin
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1/2 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/8 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt, dash pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans peeled tomatoes

Directions:

  • Place ingredients into crock pot
  • Cover with water
  • Set crock pot to low heat
  • Start when you leave for work, eat when you get home.

Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 c. mushrooms, diced

Directions:

  • Brown beef and drain off grease
  • Combine all ingredients in the crock pot
  • Cover and cook on low 3 - 4 hours.
  • Sauce can be simmered all day and be ready to eat any time!

Party Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 onion, chopped

Brown and drain. Mix in crock pot with:

  • 1 c. catsup
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 (20oz.) can baked beans
  • 1 (16oz.) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (160z.) can navy beans, drained

Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

Chicken and Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • 1 small can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 small can cream of celery soup
  • 1 small can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup Minute rice

Directions:

  • Mix the 3 cans of soup and rice in the crock pot
  • Place the chicken on top of the mixture.
  • Add the diced celery
  • Cook for 3 hours on high or 4 hours on low.

More rice (about 1/2 cup) and 2 other chicken breasts may be added to make 6 servings

Some good herbs to add to this recipe would be bay leaves, sage, or tarragon.
