Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

Basic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

  • 2 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. oleo, softened
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. Jell-O Brand vanilla instant pudding
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped ( optional )
  1. Mix flour with baking soda.
  2. Combine oleo, sugars, vanilla and pudding mix in large bowl.
  3. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in eggs.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, stir in chips and nuts.
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies Recipes

  • 2 1/4 c. unsifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  1. Combine dry ingredients; set aside.
  2. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
  3. Beat until creamy; beat in eggs.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  6. Spread in greased 15x10x1 inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Rolled Oats-Nut-Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda dissoved in 1 Tbsp. hot water
  • 2 cups rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 small pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  1. Stir flour and salt.
  2. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.
  3. Blend in soda water.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes

  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in water
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  1. Mix all ingredients together and drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet.
  2. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Makes 3 - 4 dozen

Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. butter extract
  • 1/4 cup dry non-fat milk
  • 1/2 cup Sweet n Low brown sugar(or Brown Sugar Twin)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Cream together, butter, egg, vanilla, extract, brown sugar, water
  2. Add flour, baking soda, salt; blend well
  3. Fold in chocolate chips
  4. Drop by tsp. on ungreased cookie sheet
  5. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees

Wilda Barnett's Chocolate Chip Cookies

This was my mother-in-law's chocolate chip cookie recipe. She loved to bake and she was a pro at it. She's gone now and we miss her, but you can still enjoy her chocolate chip cookies. She'd like that.

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 tbl hot water
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup nuts
  1. Mix flour with soda and salt.
  2. Combine butter, sugar, water, and vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts.
  3. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Chocolate Spritz Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 oz. semisweet choclate chips plus 2 tsp. margarine melted for topping

Directions:

  1. Cream together first five ingredients
  2. Gradually add in flour and cocoa powder until blended
  3. Chill 10 minutes
  4. Roll batter on floured board, cut with cookie cutters or use cookie gun
  5. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees
  6. Drizzle melted chocolate chips and margarine(well blended) after baking

Christmas Cookies

Christmas Casserole Cookies

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup snipped dates
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped English walnuts
  1. Beat eggs well.
  2. Add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Turn into an ungreased 2 quart casserole.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
  6. Remove from oven and while hot, stir well with a wooden spoon.
  7. Cool.
  8. Roll into small balls, roll in granulated sugar.

Makes about 36 cookies

Christmas Stellas Recipe

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  1. Sift flour; measure; add baking powder and salt; sift again.
  2. Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and continue to beat until light.
  3. Add well-beaten eggs and blend thoroughly; add vanilla.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients and the creamed mixture; mix all thoroughly and chill.
  5. Roll the dough 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured board.
  6. Cut into stars and cresents.
  7. Garnish with bits of candied cherry and angelica or sprinkle with colored sugar.
  8. Bake in a hot oven (400 degrees F.) 6 to 10 minutes.

Makes about 6 dozen thin cookies.

Crescent Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups chopped walnut meats
  • 5 tbls. sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbls. water
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Blend in other ingredients
  3. Shape into small crescents
  4. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes
  5. When cool dust with powdered sugar

Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp each; allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, beat sugar, butter until creamy
  2. Beat in eggs and molasses
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients
  4. Cover and chill 1 hour
  5. Roll on well floured surface about 1/8 inch thick
  6. Cut into shapes
  7. Place on cookie sheet
  8. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees
  9. Cool on rack; decorate with icing

Holiday Squares

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tbls. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Directions:

  1. Mix sugar and butter in large bowl
  2. Add eggs, one at a time
  3. Add flour and vanilla; blend well
  4. Pour batter into 9 x13 inch glass pan
  5. Mark off into 15 squares
  6. Place heaping teaspoons of pie filling on each square
  7. Bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees
  8. Serve when cool; top with cool-whip if desired

Icing for Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Combine egg white, Crisco, milk, vanilla, salt in large bowl
  2. Slowly add powdered sugar; mixing on medium speed until fluffy
  3. Recipe may be doubled

Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 3 oz. box vanilla instant pudding
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • Optional additions: raisins, nuts, chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Mix flour and baking soda in small bowl
  2. Combine margarine, sugars, pudding mix in large bowl
  3. Beat until creamy; beat in eggs
  4. Gradually add flour, blend well
  5. Stir in oats and optional additions
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes
