Ingredients:

  • 6 cups unsifted, unbleached flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 2 cups lukewarm water (not warmer than 100 degrees F)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Add yeast to lukewarm water and mix
  2. Add flour and salt
  3. Knead dough vigorously for 20 minutes
  4. Coat a large bowl lightly with olive oil
  5. Place dough in warm place to rise
  6. Cover with towel for 1 hour
  7. After rising make dough into two loaves
  8. Knead again about 2 minutes
  9. Shape into loaves and place on baking sheet
  10. Cut top
  11. Cover with towel and allow to rise again for 40 minutes
  12. Bake

Temp: 350 degrees F

Cooking time: 30-35 minutes

Servings: 2 loaves
