Apple Raisin Crunch

  • 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Northern Spy)
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 2 Tbl brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. grated orange rind
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Grease a 2 quart baking dish.
  3. Peel, core and slice apples into 1/4 inch thick pieces.
  4. Combine with raisins, 2 Tbl brown sugar, orange rind, orange juice and allspice in baking dish.
  5. In a bowl, mix the flour, the remaining 1 cup of brown sugar, oats, cinnamon; cut in the butter until mix is crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle on top of apples and raisins.
  7. Bake 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
